New Facility
Big Changes Under Blue Skies
PDF with photosThe Grapevine caught these dramatic moments on October 15, 2008 as the wrecking crew began pulling down Clarendon Hall.
Meanwhile, mechanical, electrical and plumbing installation were underway in the new buildings. Stucco is being applied to the Link Building, and scaffolding there will be removed in November. East residence stucco application will be completed by the first of next year.
Preparations are also being made on the third floor of the existing building for seismic upgrades. When the upgrades begin, Moran Hall will serve as interim cafeteria until the new buildings open in spring 2010. And the fixes to the accessible pathway, or tree allée, on the front lawn will be done by year's end.
If you know of LHHRC staff, residents, families or members of the community who would like to view a presentation on the progress of the new hospital or take a tour, please call Arla Escontrias at (415) 990-3947.
